Is it worth it? Dunno about MGM NH, but for here at MGM Detroit it's a big NO!
Tier Credits Summary: Casino Play – 37,333 Tier Credits Hotel, Dining, Entertainment – $2,000 spend 25 tier credits for each $1 ( 2,000 X 25 = 50,000 Tier Credits). There are five tiers to MLife. The entry tier is Sapphire. Players that earn 25,000 points in a year will reach the Pearl tier. Gold players must earn 75,000 points in a year, while Platinum players must earn 200,000 tier credits. The special Noir tier is by invitation only. Unless otherwise indicated, cruise must be booked during the applicable Tier Status Benefit Year (2/1 – 1/31) for travel completed within three (3) months after the applicable period. For cruise benefit offered in 2020 only, cruise must be booked by 12/31/20 for travel. New members start at the Sapphire Tier Level and achieve Pearl status at 25,000 Tier Credits, Gold at 75,000 Tier Credits and Platinum at 200,000 Tier Credits. The premium level, NOIR, is by invitation only. MLife does make 'Specialty Slots' earn Tier Credits at a slower rate. I think the 'normal' rate is $3 coin-in = 1 Tier Point. For the 'Specialty Slots', I believe it's $10 coin in for 1 Tier Point. From what I understand, these 'specialty' machines are marked and are typically your leased games.

so 20% bonus for points should give you 20% more tier credits.
note: coin-in per point differs depending whether it's slots ($3 coin-in per point) or vp ($10 coin-in)

the only one that was of any value to me was free cruise on either Royal or Celebrity.
but the only place worth playing at for MGM is vegas.
all the other mgm locations (ie: MGM national harbor in MD) give you horrible coin-in per tier point.
since Caesars killed their Diamond Aspirations tiers, I have no incentive to play over 25k points. (get into the Diamond lounges for free)

I think MLIFE is one of the better reward system when it comes to getting comp in platinum.
In Vegas I had a different experience, flashing the platinum generally seemed to result in getting more of the VIP treatment. More of an intangible thing though. Just stuff like playing video poker at the bar I would get more attentive service. When I would play with the gold card I felt like I was fighting for attention. Roll up and pull out the platinum card and the experience was night and day.
In terms of raw benefits cruises don't really mean anything to me as its not something I'd really be interested in doing, but the extra discount in the shops is nice since I tend to buy a lot of cold drinks in them and the extra % off on the exorbitant price of cigarettes if I forget to pack enough adds up. That's probably the only specific tangible benefit I could 'feel'.
Personally I prefer the experience at the MGM properties, even considering how indifferent they are at the Borg, compared to Total Rewards/Caesars properties - mainly because they check room keys 24/7 to allow access in the hotel towers - but I don't know that I would go out of my way specifically to 'chase' platinum.

I got a free upgrade to gold. I will probably earn enough to keep that but don’t know what platinum gives me. Comps are nice but at National Harbor they are wasted. It’s a “luxury destination resort” but only has one Asian restaurant. $27 for a beef fried rice. $13 for a chicken burrito in the food court. I always make sure to eat before hand. Hey if people are paying that while enjoying their 6:5 blackjack, more power to them.
Marquee rewards gives a lot for executive producer, which is only $125k coin in in 6 months. They have more locations too.

**Those trip numbers are without meals of any kind--just hotel, spa, and ticket costs for those trips so far
So, that is 169,626 points before gambling or spending another dollar...both of which will happen at some level! I am fairly certain I will get the 30,374 points by the second trip. What I don't really expect is any better offers based on ADT. It is possible that my ADT could end up lower, since one nice winning session (word used loosely because 'session' definition has been argues extensively here) last year raised my average bet for the year. Since it was one of my two best sessions ever, I don't expect it to happen every time!
I anticipate being Platinum the last part of the MLife year (but there is no trip planned during that part of the year) and the following MLife year. After that, I see myself being back at Gold or Pearl. I am retired military, so Pearl is a lock... I will take advantage of Platinum as much as I can during my short stay there!
Other than that - MGM offers are INCREDIBLY play dependent. I play good video poker and table games at medium green chip levels - so my offers tend to suck.

Yes, and 25 tier credits for every dollar spent not gambling. As supercharged and RonC posted, tier credits can be racked up more quickly by spending money on hotel rooms, restaurants and shows instead of gambling. (3.33 TC per $ for slots and 1 TC per $ for VP.)
Mlife doesn’t really spell out the benefits of each tier. I guess once you get there, they start sending you stuff but I kind of like knowing what benefits I can get ahead of time. Priority access to Vegas nightclubs is not in the least bit important to me. I still don’t know what I can actually use my points for. They have sent me emails for a $99 trip to Beau Rivage which I am trying to take them up on.

If I booked a comp room offer, the resort fee was waived for being Platinum; otherwise, resort fee is charged if I book on my own.
One time when checking in, I was given a printout good for two free tickets at my choice of specified attractions such as the roller coaster at NYNY or Secret Garden at Mirage.
Regarding what to use points for, 'Points give you more of what you like best, FREEPLAY for your slot play. Redeem points when and where you want from your favorite slot games without waiting in line.'
I think it was after my second visit to Las Vegas (when I decided to play BJ in the MGM Grand high limit room) that I started receiving offers for Beau Rivage with a chartered plane from Atlanta to Biloxi. This was several years ago, I can't remember if there was a nominal fee or if the whole thing was complimentary. I have no idea how many tier credits I had earned in Vegas because I was new to gambling and wasn't looking at players club benefits. However, I am pretty sure that I wasn't offered an upgraded card from the blue Sapphire. I did enjoy the trip to Biloxi!
